Biography

Jed works at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine as a research fellow. His research interests include epidemiology, epidemiological modelling, and health economic analysis of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and kidney disease.

He leads three main research projects:

  1. Shifting from reactive to proactive primary prevention of cardiovascular disease (construction of a lifetime risk score for CVD in Australia). Funded by the National Heart Foundation of Australia.
  2. Spatial mapping of diabetes hotspots in Australia using the National Health Data Hub. Funded by the HCF Research Foundation.
  3. Construction and validation of the Advanced Life table Longitudinal Simulation for Predicting Adverse Risks and Key outcomes (ALLSPARK) model. Funded by Diabetes Australia.

Jed is also a lead analyst for a range of epidemiologic (e.g., he is the lead analyst for the GLOBODIAB study) and health economic projects (e.g., he is a consultant health economist for the lipoprotein (a) international taskforce).
