Biography
Jed works at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine as a research fellow. His research interests include epidemiology, epidemiological modelling, and health economic analysis of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and kidney disease.
He leads three main research projects:
- Shifting from reactive to proactive primary prevention of cardiovascular disease (construction of a lifetime risk score for CVD in Australia). Funded by the National Heart Foundation of Australia.
- Spatial mapping of diabetes hotspots in Australia using the National Health Data Hub. Funded by the HCF Research Foundation.
- Construction and validation of the Advanced Life table Longitudinal Simulation for Predicting Adverse Risks and Key outcomes (ALLSPARK) model. Funded by Diabetes Australia.
Jed is also a lead analyst for a range of epidemiologic (e.g., he is the lead analyst for the GLOBODIAB study) and health economic projects (e.g., he is a consultant health economist for the lipoprotein (a) international taskforce).
