Jayasinghe Wickramanayake is a senior lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance.

J. Wickramanayake joined the Department in February 1994 and is teaching finance. Prior to 1994 he was a central banker for about twenty five years. His tertiary teaching experience, including that in adjunct positions, spans around twenty five years, of which more than fifteen years have been with Monash University. He has substantial experience in supervision of postgraduate research students and under his supervision a number of PhD research theses have been completed.

Wickramanayake obtained his PhD in 1994 from La Trobe University, Australia and is a Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australasia. His research interests are in the fields of superannuation and pension finance, funds management, central banking, mergers and acquisitions and small and medium industry finance. Wickramanayake has a number of publications in reputed finance journals including Managerial Finance, International Review of Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Journal of Emerging Markets, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Asia-Pacific Financial Markets and Applied Financial Economics. His contributions in the form of book chapters include research on banking governance, asset allocation and international investments.
