Dr. Jason Bloom is a clinician-scientist who earned his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2013, graduating with First Class Honors and subsequently completed his cardiology training at The Alfred Hospital. Jason has an interest in critical care cardiology, including the management of cardiogenic shock and cardiac arrest. He was awarded a PhD in 2025, supported through funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the National Heart Foundation (NHF).

Jason undertook two additional years of advanced subspecialty training in coronary and structural heart interventions at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, United States. These fellowships were supervised by internationally recognized leaders in coronary and structural heart disease, including Professors Margaret McEntegart, Jeffrey Moses, Ajay Kirtane, and Martin Leon.

Currently, Jason's clinical and research focus includes critical care cardiology and structural heart disease, areas he has published extensively in. He is a coordinating investigator for the Paramedic Randomized Trial of Noradrenaline Versus Adrenaline in Cardiogenic Shock (PANDA) trial, which will represent the largest randomized controlled trial assessing the safety and tolerability of two vasoactive support strategies in cardiogenic shock. Additionally, Jason serves as Australia's Young National Representative for the European Society of Cardiology’s Acute Cardiovascular Care Council.

He currently holds joint appointments as a staff specialist at The Alfred Hospital and as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Monash Alfred Baker Centre for Cardiovascular Research.
