Biography

Assoc. Prof Janeane Dart is Director of Education in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. Janeane is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian including a portfolio of diverse and extensive experience as a clinical dietitian, educator and researcher working within Australia and the UK. 

Janeane has diverse clinical experience in public and private hospitals, community settings and private practice and has a special interest in gastroenterology, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She has also held various management positions including Dietetic Manager of a large hospital department in Oxford UK from 2002-2005.

Janeane followed her passion for student training and education into the higher education sector, working at Kings College London 2005-2007, completing her Graduate Cert in Academic Practice. Janeane has been at Monash University since 2008.

Janeane has presented nationally and internationally and published research in the areas of health professional education as well as different clinical areas of nutrition and dietetics.

Janeane's primary research interests are in educational research, including professionalism and sociocultural factors in health professions education which was the focus of her doctoral research.
