Biography
Janeane works in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University as a Senior Lecturer. Janeane is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and has over 25 years' experience as a clinical dietitian working within Australia and the UK.
Janeane has extensive clinical experience in public and private hospitals, community settings and private practice and has a special interest in gastroenterology, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She has also held various management positions including Dietetic Manager of a large hospital department in Oxford UK from 2002-2005.
Janeane has had extensive experience as a clinical teacher in Australia and the UK and followed her passion for student training and education into the higher education sector, working at Kings College London 2005-2007, completing her Graduate Cert in Academic Practice. Janeane has been at Monash University since 2008.
Janeane has presented nationally and internationally and published research in the areas of health professional education as well as different clinical areas of nutrition and dietetics.
Janeane's primary research interests are in educational research, especially the teaching, learning and assessment of professionalism in dietetic education. This is the focus of her doctoral research.
