Biography

Dr. Hirra Butt is currently working as a lecturer at the School of Business, Management Department. She has a Ph.D. in Management Sciences from the University of Science and Technology of China with a specialization in organizational behavior and leadership. Before joining Monash, she worked as a lecturer at Chaohu University and Huainan Normal University and taught undergraduate students majoring in Business Administration. Her prior educational qualifications include a B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering from Shandong University of Science and Technology (China) and MBA from the University of Science and Technology of China.

Research interests

Her research focuses on building and sustaining effective workplace relationships. She has published articles related to organizational behavior, leadership and human resource management in Personnel Review, Current Psychology and Journal of Knowledge Management.

Supervision interests

Projects in the domain of Leadership, Organizational Behavior and Cross-Cultural Management.

Consulting

Prioir to joining Monash Dr. Butt worked as a remote HR consultant for Al-Shifa Medical Products, a manufacturing company in Saudi Arabia. In this role, she aided the management in developing, revising and implementing HR policies as well as suggesting programs for employee training and development.

University Service

Dr. Butt is involved in supporting the porjects of the eiHub to nurture entrepreneurial and innovative skills in the students. She also serves as Assurance of Learning (AOL) specialist under the Deputy Head of School (Education).
