Biography

Gerry is an Associate Professor in the Monash University Office of Learning and Teaching.

As an education-focused academic, Gerry is committed to enhancing teaching and learning in Higher Education. His research interests broadly encompass the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), with specific areas of educational research including:

  • Inquiry-oriented learning and development of objective assessment of student practical skills;
  • Peer-assisted learning practices to improve student understanding and enhance the development of generic skills;
  • Professional development of academic staff to enhance student learning and skills acquisition;
  • Use and effectiveness of information and communication technologies in tertiary education;
  • Development, implementation and evaluation of academic mentorship programs;
  • Embedding authentic Work integrated learning in Higher Education.
