Biography

Georgina is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Education at Monash University. She is a sociologist, whose research interests lie in the areas of feminist theory, genders and sexualities; particularly in the contexts of physical cultures health and wellbeing.

In her PhD research, Georgina conducted a multi-sited ethnographic study of British surfing spaces. Through immersive research, she explored the embodiment of gender, sexuality, whiteness, space, place and emotion through a feminist lens.

Georgina is an experienced secondary and tertiary educator, and has also taught yoga in educational and community settings. Her professional experiences inform her more recent areas of teaching and research; in effective Health education pedagogies, and the significance of physical culture and the natural environment for health and wellbeing.
