Biography
Dr Genevieve Hall is an experienced teacher, teacher educator and professional learning expert. As Professional Learning Lead with Monash University's Q Project, she plays a significant role in all aspects of the Q Project's improvement work with schools, in particular the trialling of the new 'Using Research Well in Practice' online professional learning program and related assessment tool. Her previous roles include working as an Education Consultant for the Asia Education Foundation at the University of Melbourne on designing, implementing and evaluating professional learning programs for teachers and school leaders. She has also worked as a Lecturer and Curriculum Lead at RMIT University and a Teaching Associate at Monash University where she has educated pre-service teachers about current learning theories and pedagogies to prepare them to meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers through evidence informed practice. Genevieve's doctoral thesis focused on engaging young people in contemporary issues and civics and citizenship education. She has also presented at international conferences, written journal articles and contributed to textbooks about civics and citizenship education. Genevieve is the current President of the Social and Citizenship Education Association of Australia, a national professional teacher association.
