Biography

 

Gabriella Tikellis is a Research Fellow in respiratory research at the School of Translational Medicine at Monash University in Melbourne. She has a strong background in epidemiology and mixed methods research, complemented by extensive experience in project and research management.

Gabriella’s current research areas include silicosis, oxygen therapy and the optimisation of care for people with pulmonary fibrosis primarily under the umbrella of a Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) in Pulmonary Fibrosis program.  

Her research focuses on understanding the needs of people with lived experience of lung conditions and translating these insights into strategies that enhance access to and delivery of high-quality care. 

Over the course of her career, Gabriella has published more than 75 peer-reviewed papers across diverse disciplines, including respirology, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and ophthalmology. She has supervision experience at both PhD and Honours level and is a reviewer for a range of international journals.

Gabriella is also a strong advocate for genuine collaboration with people with lived experience, recognising that their involvement is essential for achieving meaningful and impactful outcomes
