Biography
Emeritus Professor Frank Archer, the former Head of the Department of Community Emergency Health and Paramedic Practice at Monash University, is Director of the Monash University Disaster Resilience Initiative (MUDRI), within the Monash University Accident Research Centre.
Frank recently completed his term as the Chair, Board of Directors of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) and continues to serve on the Scientific Program Committee for WADEM's biennial World Congresses. From 1993 to 2003, Professor Archer was the Senior Medical Director at the Metropolitan Ambulance Service in Melbourne and in addition to this, was the State Ambulance Medical Director for the Victorian Department of Human Services for 25 years.
Professor Archer has postgraduate specialist clinical fellowships in general practice, immediate medical care, and public health medicine. He is also a member of many national and international committees in the area of pre-hospital care.
