Biography

Francesco Ricatti is Cassamarca Senior Lecturer in Italian Studies, and coordinator of European Languages at Monash University. His main research interests are in migration history, transcultural studies, and participatory and creative approaches to social change in transcultural communities. In this area, he has received research funding from the National Geographic and the Scanlon Foundation. He has studied extensively the history of Italians is Australia, and is currently working on the development of a decolonial approach to the history of Italian and Mediterranean migration to Australia.
