Filip is an evolutionary biologist interested in testing theories about adaptation using increasingly available data on adaptive genomic variation. His work typically combines modelling, computational data analyses and experiments. He has previously used genome-wide association studies to investigate the genetic basis of sex-specific fitness variation in fruit flies and humans, population genomic methods to identify signatures of sexually antagonistic selection, and experiments to test the effects of individual candidate genes. He is also interested in related questions about adaptation, including contrasts between X chromosome and autosome evolution, processes that underpin the evolution of inversions, and the role of dominance in adaptation. He works in collaboration with Tim Connallon. More details about his research interests can be found on: filruzicka.github.io
