Biography

Dr. Elham Ahmadzadeh (BSc, MSc, PhD) is a Postdoctoral Scientist at The Ritchie Centre, Hudson Institute of Medical Research, Monash University. Her research focuses on neurodevelopmental physiology, particularly in understanding the primary causes of fetal and neonatal brainstem injury. Elham aims to elucidate the progression of cardiorespiratory diseases caused by brainstem Injury through preclinical studies. Her experimental research investigates the pathophysiological mechanisms affecting specific serotonin neurons that control cardiorespiratory functions in fetuses affected by hypoxia, fetal growth restriction, and preterm birth. The ultimate goal of her work is to develop targeted neuroprotective therapies to mitigate these injuries.
