Biography
Dirk is a lecturer at MSDI, with a specific focus on executive education. Dirk has nearly 10 years’ experience in helping individuals and organisations identify, make sense of and respond to the sustainability challenges they face.
Previously he worked as a sustainability and strategy specialist for a large South African bank, developing and implementing a positive impact business strategy aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and advising on climate change and responsible investment. Before that he worked for the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, developing and presenting executive education programmes, managing a CEO initiative on climate change and assisting companies with their sustainability strategies.
He has a Masters degree in Futures Studies from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) and was a co-founder and chairman of Brightest Young Minds, a non-profit organisation offering development opportunities to very high potential young people in South Africa.
