Biography
Dato' Dr Anuar Zaini is Professor of Internal Medicine at Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. Professor Dato’ Dr Anuar Zaini had his early postgraduate training in endocrinology and metabolic medicine both in UK (Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne) and Australia (Medical Research Centre, Prince Henry Hospital, Melbourne). He was the President of the Malaysian Diabetes Association for 10 years from 1990 and also deputy chairman of the International Diabetes Federation-Western Pacific Region (1997 – 2000) during which time he was actively involved in several diabetes care strategic policy development and multi-centre research projects. He is actively involved in several international multicentre clinical trials in diabetes.
Research interests
Primary prevention of diabetes and community empowerment, translational studies of diabetic nephropathy.
