Personal profile

Biography

My vision is to produce research that fosters a fairer and sustainable economy where hard work leads to meaningful career advancement and all individuals have equal opportunities to succeed. I am particularly focused on addressing gender and economic inequalities. By educating, supporting, and empowering organisations to prioritise equity, I aim to contribute to a society where merit and effort drive success. This approach not only promotes fairness and sustainability but also enhances innovation and productivity in workplaces.

I am an Assistant Professor of Responsible Leadership at Monash University. I hold an MA from the University of Oxford and a PhD from King’s College London. Before transitioning to academia, I worked as a management consultant at Accenture and Deloitte, where I designed and delivered projects for FTSE 100 and 250 companies.

Supervision interests

I supervise PhD students with interests in the following areas, among others:

  • Inequality: Investigating gender and socio-economic (class) inequalities, the challenges workers face, and how organisations can develop better support systems to foster fairness and inclusion.
  • Climate Change and Sustainability: Examining the impacts of climate change on workers, with a focus on their emotional and internal experiences.
  • Psychological and Discursive Methods: Using these approaches to explore individuals' identities, emotions, and past experiences.
  • Sectoral Interests: Including but not limited to finance, banking, and accounting; hospitality and retail; and sport.

Consulting

I have experience consulting with international bodies and multi-national corporations. I partner with clients to conduct in-depth interviews with workers at all levels of organisations—from executives to entry-level employees—across sectors such as banking, finance, sport, retail, and hospitality. My research explores people's lived experiences, uncovering the structural and cultural barriers, as well as the enablers, to career progression. These insights have informed the publication of white papers and the facilitation of workshops with industry leaders, helping to develop and implement initiatives that improve workplace practices. My work deepens understanding of how organisations can support individuals in achieving career success while fostering inclusive and meritocratic environments.

Monash teaching commitment

I teach large-scale undergraduate courses in Business Ethics and Management and have experience delivering Executive Education programs. I am recognised for employing innovative and creative approaches in my lectures and teaching practices.

University Service

I serve on the Monash Business School Committee for Equity, Diversity, and Social Inclusion and act as the faculty's PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Ambassador, advocating for organisational sustainability.
