Daniel is a Research Fellow within the Methods in Evidence Synthesis Unit which specialises in the development and evaluation of statistical and research methodology to optimise evidence synthesis. Daniel originally trained as a radiation therapist, working both clinically and in a research role, then as a research coordinator managing national and international multimodality cancer clinical trials.
In addition to his role at Monash University, he is a Research Project Supervisor within the University of Melbourne’s Master of Cancer Sciences course. Daniel also serves on the South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute’s (SAHMRI) Australian Particle Therapy Clinical Quality Registry (ASPIRE) Steering Committee and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology.
Daniel's research interests include the development of guidance and technology to promote engagement with robust evidence synthesis methods and transparent reporting of research. Daniel is also interested in the adoption of open science practices (e.g., data sharing), investigations of the reliability of research (e.g., tests of reproducibility, robustness and replicability), research integrity issues, and areas where these topics intersect with evidence synthesis efforts (e.g., individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis, trustworthiness checks).
