Biography

Dr. Cunjian Chen is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University in Australia. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from West Virginia University, USA, in 2014. Following his doctorate, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Michigan State University (2014–2015) and subsequently served as a Research Associate and Senior Research Associate in Michigan State University's Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 2017 to 2021.

His research focuses on generative AI, computer vision, and biometrics. He has published over 60 papers in leading venues, including IEEE TPAMI, IJCV, IEEE TNNLSIEEE TDSCIEEE TIFSIEEE TETCICVPRNeurIPS, and AAAI. He holds nine patents and has received three best paper awards.

Dr. Chen also contributes to the academic community through editorial and conference roles. He serves as an Associate Editor for Pattern Recognition, IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior, and Identity ScienceNeurocomputing, and Neural Processing Letters, and as an Area Chair for many reputed conferences. He was a Senior Member of IEEE.
