Biography

Dr Courtney McLean is a Research Fellow in the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University. Courtney completed her PhD at Monash University in 2023 which focused on understanding the contentious and complex relationship between eating disorders and vegetarian and vegan eating behaviours. Courtney's research aims to explore the measurement of disordered eating in people who follow a vegetarian and vegan diet, in turn supporting advocacy and best-practice treatment guidelines for these growing dietary groups.

Courtney completed a Postdoctural Research Fellow at La Trobe University and assisted with the government funded Evaluation of the Eating Disorders Medicare Benefit Schedule Items 2024 Report. Courtney currently works within the Addiction and Impulsivity Research (AIR) laboratory exploring binge-type symptoms and eating disorder research.
