Biography
I am a qualified actuary holding fellowships of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK (FIA) and the Actuaries Institute of Australia (FIAA), I have built on a decade of actuarial practice with a career in academia leading the development, delivery and accreditation of actuarial science in a university setting. I hold a number of overseas external examiner appointments and have consulted with universities in the U.S., Europe, Australia, New Zealand and China on the development of actuarial science programs. I have won numerous awards for teaching innovations including Times Higher Education Most Innovative Teacher of the Year finalist (2011) and being named one of the top 20 micro-innovators in Europe in 2012 (VISIR).
My research interests are in the modelling and forecasting of mortality rates and the design and pricing of post retirement products. I have a number of publications in these areas.
