Dr CK Yao is a dedicated research dietician with a growing national and international reputation for excellence in areas of diet and chronic gastrointestinal disease. She is currently both a practicing Dietician and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Department of Gastroenterology, Alfred Health & Monash University.

Dr Yao completed her PhD at Deakin University in 2017, followed by postdoctoral training at the Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital; The University of Hong Kong (2017) and the Department of Gastroenterology, Alfred Health & Monash University (2017-2021).

Dr Yao has received competitive fellowship and grant funding, totalling $1,500,158.75 to date. With a H-index of 18, her peer-reviewed published research has garnered almost 1444 citations to date.  

University Service

Dr Yao has acted as a peer-reviewer on several journals including The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics and the British Journal of Nutrition

Dr Yao has also acted as a grant and abstract reviewer for NHMRC Ideas Grants 2021, Swiss National Science Foundation Grants 2023, the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and the Dietitians Australia Annual Conference 2023.
