Personal profile


Dr Jackman is senior medical educator and emergency physician. She is currently appointed as Dean of the Epworth Clinical School, Senior lecturer (curriculum lead) at the Eastern Health Clinical School and Senior simulation facilitator at the Centre for Health Innovation and has a clinical appointment with Cabrini.


Dr Jackman completed her undergarduate and specialty training in South Australia before starting as a consultant in emergency with Eastern Health, Victoria. She has subsequently worked at Epworth, Alfred Health and Cabrini Health in clinical roles. Her non-clinical roles have included coordination of medical student and JMO training programs in emergency, academic support of advanced trainees in emergency medicine, recruitment of junior medical staff.


She completed a Master of Health Professional education in 2017 and has had substantive roles in developing, facilitating and evaulating medical student education programs since 2014.


Her research interests include  improving learning in the clinical environment and supporting medical student transition into clinical learning, the use of near peers in medical education, communication skills training for undergraduates and the development of clinical reasoning skills.
