Christian Gill studied the linguistics and pedagogy of German as a foreign language, Communication and Media studies and English Studies at the University of Leipzig, Germany. He later worked as a Lecturer and Research Staff Member at the University of Manchester and the University of Bremen. His research interests focus on the acquisition of foreign and second languages, in particular L2 reading comprehension processes and L2 reading assessment, as well as the pedagogy of German as a foreign and second language. Within this framework his doctoral thesis investigates the development of reading comprehension skills of migrant students after their integration in mainstream education.
At Monash University Christian works as a Lecturer in German Studies and is also a representative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
