Biography

Christopher Morrison is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, and has an adjunct appointment at Monash University. His research is funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and seeks to understand how social and physical environmental conditions affect population health, particularly injuries, alcohol use, and alcohol-related harms. His ongoing work examines the impacts of ridesharing services (such as Uber and Lyft) on motor vehicle crashes, firearm laws on firearm violence, and retail alcohol availability on alcohol consumption. Dr. Morrison was a faculty member at Columbia University, where he taught Spatial Epidemiology and served as T32 Training Coordinator for the Substance Abuse Epidemiology Training Program in the Department of Epidemiology. He previously worked as an Associate Research Scientist at the Prevention Research Center of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation in Berkeley, California, and he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Penn Injury Science Center at the University of Pennsylvania.
