Biography

Chenhui Jin is a Research Fellow in the ARC Centre of Excellence for 21st Century Weather, based at the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Monash University. His research interests include weather systems, extreme precipitation events, and rainfall variability. His current focus is understanding the interactions between tropical and extratropical weather systems and how these interactions affect the downstream midlatitude large-scale environment, with a particular interest in the dynamics of the extratropical transition of tropical cyclones. He recently completed his PhD at Monash University on understanding the roles of weather systems in rainfall variability and extremes in Australia.
