Carolynne is a sonographer and educator with more than 30 years’ clinical experience. She is a senior lecturer in the Master of Medical Ultrasound program and is currently completing a PhD titled ‘Development of point-of-care ultrasound education in Australasia’.

Carolynne actively serves the wider ultrasound profession in several board, leadership and advisory roles. She is a Director of the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR) board, which is the national body accrediting sonographers and university education providers. She also sits on the Australasian Sonographers Association’s (ASA) Fellowship panel, Scope of Practice expert panel, and Clinical Supervision special interest group. She is a previous Chairperson of ASA Victorian committee and a past elected Director of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Groups (EMUG) Australia & New Zealand.

Carolynne has been recognised for her significant and sustained contributions to the health professions, receiving an honorary EMUG life membership in 2026, ASA Sonographer of the Year (Victoria) award in 2022, inaugural ASA Fellowship in 2018 and ASA Educator of the Year award in 2016.

She is a peer reviewer for several journals and is a regularly invited conference speaker who has presented extensively at both national and international meetings. Carolynne has particular interest in interprofessional collaboration, point-of-care ultrasound, ultrasound for resource poor environments, and health educational research.
