Dr Giannangelo uses state-of-the-art systems biology techniques (metabolomics and proteomics) to understand the complex biology of the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum, and to elucidate the mechanisms of action and resistance for novel malaria therapeutics. The goal of his research is to improve existing, and discovery new, medicines for the treatment of malaria.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
