Biography
Brigitte is an accredited clinical physiologist (respiratory) with 27 years’ experience. Brigitte works at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne as Head, Physiology Service, Respiratory Medicine and also holds an adjunct lecturer position in the school of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. In 2019, Brigitte moved into the role of Respiratory Stream Lead for the Hazelwood Health study, having been the stream coordinator during the first round of clinical assessments in 2017-18.
Brigitte’s areas of interest in the field of respiratory medicine include:

Brigitte’s current areas of research interest include:
- Impact of the Hazelwood coal mine fire on lung health in the Morwell community
- The utility of the forced oscillation technique to identify early interstitial lung disease
- The utility of the forced oscillation technique to identify early lung allograph dysfunction in lung transplant recipients
- Using the SVC manoeuvre within the forced oscillation technique to estimate elastic recoil and airway closure in patient with end stage lung disease
