Biography

Dr. Bräuchler joined Anthropology at the School of Social Sciences, Monash University, from Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany, in October 2015. She obtained her PhD from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich in 2005 and did her habilitation at Goethe-University Frankfurt in 2014. She held postdoctoral and visiting fellowships at the Asia Research Institute (National University of Singapore), the Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV, Leiden) and the School of Culture, History and Language at the Australian National University.

Research interests

Her research interests lie in peace and conflict studies; media and cyber anthropology; cultural rights and revival of tradition; anthropology of law and religion; Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia.

Anthropology of Conflict and Peace; Media Anthropology (in particular related to conflict/peace dynamics and resistance movements); Southeast Asia (in particular Indonesia, Eastern Indonesia)
