Her key research achievements include contributions on how to design social learning processes to advance sustainable policy and practices from a futures perspective. More recently, she has also been exploring the impact and design of sustainability education.
Prior to joining Monash University, Annette was involved in capacity development and consultancy related to water services management in Europe as well as Africa. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with industry, government agencies and aid organisations.
Annette has an interdisciplinary background. She holds a PhD in Environmental Sociology (Monash University, Australia), an MSc in Water and Waste Engineering (Loughborough University, UK) and a BSc in Civil Engineering (HTS, The Netherlands).
