Biography

Ann Guns is passionate about teaching and learning and uses her experiences teaching history/social sciences, mathematics and languages in secondary school settings together with research to inform her teaching at the Faculty of Education. She enjoys working with students of all ages and is respected for her ability to inspire pre-service teachers to become engaging teachers who look at student diversity as a positive starting point.

Ann is also currently working on her PhD project which looks into learning strategies and motivation of international students studying a Business degree at Monash University. A comparison between international students from a Confucian Heritage Culture (CHC) background, international students from a non-CHC background and domestic students from families with a CHC and non-CHC background will expose differences and similarities in students' learning and will help to understand and improve teaching in cultural diverse classroom settings.
