Biography

Anita Forsyth is currently a senior lecturer (education focused) in teacher education at Monash University where her areas of interest are Economics and Business Studies education, SOSE/Studies of Society and Environment/Humanities curriculum, economic literacy, teaching, learning and assessment and civics and citizenship education issues, school improvement and accountability, leadership and professional learning.Anita has authored a number of economics, SOSE and business studies textbooks and journal articles (some examples are listed below). She regularly speaks at professional learning seminars and conferences for educators. Anita is currently Chair - Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority's (VCAA) VCE Economics Exam Setting Panel and is VCE Economics Chief Assessor. Anita co-authored the current VCE Economics Study Design (syllabus), and authored the Teacher Advice, assessment advice and both school based and exam based assessment criteria. On behalf of the Education Faculty Anita is the director and lead contractor for the School Review contract held with the Victorian DEECD. She reviews 8-10 Victorian government schools each year.
