Biography

Amin works in the Civil Engineering Department at Monash University as an Associate Professor. He is the Head of Structural Engineering Group and Coordinator of Engineering for Extremes at Civil Engineering Department.

His research interests include:

  • Steel, concrete and steel-concrete composite frames and connections subjected to extreme actions including fire, blast, impact and earthquake
  • Innovative ultra-high performance tubular constrcution
  • Nonlinear analysis of steel and steel-concrete composite structures
  • Evaluation and rehabilitation of structures subjected to extreme actions
