Biography
Amale graduated with a Bachelor of International Trade, Bachelor of Banking and Finance (Honours) and a PhD at Monash University. Amale has worked in the Department of Banking and Finance ever since undertaking her Honours studies in the Department. She is currently a Lecturer (Education focused) and also holds the role of Course Director of the Master of Business at Monash University. She has previously held the role of Deputy Director of Education and Course Director of the Master of Advanced Finance in the Department of Banking and Finance. In 2016, Amale designed a large first year undergraduate unit using a flipped teaching approach. This informed the design of other units she has been in charge of. Amale has extensive teaching experience across a wide range of units, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Amale has received Dean’s purple letters for her unit leadership and teaching. She has developed an ESG and sustainability module in capstone units of the Master of Banking and Finance and Master of Advanced Finance and has purposefully introduced Indigenous content in these units. Amale is also part of the teaching team in the Master of Indigenous Business Leadership, an award winning and transformative leadership program designed for Indigenous Australians working in public, private and community sectors. Amale is passionate about delivering excellent education, which is inclusive, offers a broad range of perspectives and she always strives to inspire her students to be compassionate future global leaders.

Teaching Awards/Prizes: awarded a 2017 Dean's Commendation for Teaching Excellence; nominated for 2018 Vice-Chancellor's Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning; nominated as a team for the 2021 Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards for Diversity and Inclusion, awarded a team's Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Award for Diversity and Inclusion in 2022.
Fellowships: Awarded Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) Fellowship (FHEA).
