Biography
Alison is a Registered Nurse, Credentialled Mental Health Nurse and the Deputy Director of Education (Quality) at Monash University. She has experience in the area of forensic mental health nursing, specifically working with women in secure forensic hospitals. Alison's PhD focused on the frequency and duration of seclusion for women within secure forensic hospitals, and also explored the woman’s experience of seclusion.
Alison’s education focus is in the area of mental health nursing and law and ethics for nurses, and teaches across pre and post-registration courses. Alison currently supervises honours and masters students.
Alison is an active member of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and currently is a committee member for the Accreditation Committee, and is a member of the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services.
