Biography

Dr Ali Rashidi is a researcher at the Future Building Initiative jointly run by the Faculty of Engineering and Monash Art Design and Architecture at Monash University. He's an active coordinator of Digital Project Management at the Building 4.0 Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) program in Australia. Ali's teaching practice is focused on Project Management unit delivery in the Department of Civil Engineering at Monash-Clayton. He is also an adjunct lecturer in Construction Engineering and Management at the School of Engineering, Monash University Malaysia. His doctoral dissertation was on “Developing Capability of Low-skilled Laborers through Serious Game in Industrialised Timber Construction Projects”. Ali’s doctoral dissertation merged engagement factors with effective educational design criteria to produce a Serious Game training prototype for an engaging low-skilled workforce in learning complex industrialised construction technologies. Ali is the inventor of 6 Intellectual Properties (Utility Innovation, Copyrights, and Trademark) in developing the design and development workflow process for gamifying instructional training manual. He is very comfortable working on multi-disciplinary projects, particularly with a focus on computer-integrated design and construction management such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Extended Reality (MR/AR/VR + Serious Game) applications for project coordination and progress monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.

In addition, he has been granted an Autodesk® Certified Professional in Revit Architecture since 2016. Ali is a Fellow and Chartered Professional Engineer (FIEAust CPEng) at Engineers Australia.
