Dr Alex Chamberlain graduated from Monash University with Honours in 1993 and was awarded Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2005.
He has been affiliated with the Victorian Melanoma Service since 1999 and has an appointment as Adjunct Senior Lecturer through Monash University. Two years of his training were spent in Oxford. He also completed a fellowship in dermoscopy and multidisciplinary skin cancer management in Oxford in 2007.
His research into nodular melanoma has helped attract attention to this aggressive melanoma subtype. His special interests include dermoscopy, early detection of skin cancer and GP education.
He was a committee member and contributor to the latest Cancer Council Australia Clinical Practice Guidelines for the diagnosis and management of melanoma.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
