Biography

Dr Alex Chamberlain graduated from Monash University with Honours in 1993 and was awarded Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2005. 

He has been affiliated with the Victorian Melanoma Service since 1999 and has an appointment as Adjunct Senior Lecturer through Monash University. Two years of his training were spent in Oxford. He also completed a fellowship in dermoscopy and multidisciplinary skin cancer management in Oxford in 2007. 

His special interests include dermoscopy, melanoma, early detection of skin cancer and dermatology education.

He was a committee member and contributor to the latest Cancer Council Australia Clinical Practice Guidelines for the diagnosis and management of melanoma. In 2022 he co-edited Diagnostic Dermoscopy:The Illustrated Guide 2nd Edition, a comprehensive teaching atlas on the discipline with Dr Jonathan Bowling and Prof John Paoli.
