Biography
Alex is responsible for overseeing, planning and delivering high-quality administrative project support to the operations of the thriving research ecosystem at the Monash Faculty of Arts. As the Arts Research Project Manager, Alex is crucial in applying innovative research and project management methodologies to ensure the successful conception and delivery of projects related to the faculty's priority research areas.
His expertise in managing complex and sensitive research projects spans various disciplines and thematics, including intercultural communication, gender studies, translation and interpreting studies, criminology, anthropology, applied linguistics, and social cohesion.
As an Arts Research and Enterprise (ARE) member, Alex collaborates closely with the Category 2-4 team, a dedicated team of ARE research development leaders, to support academic research and externally funded programs. This includes developing and supporting initiatives such as papers for publication, research or administrative procedures, grant applications, reports, literature reviews, data analysis, and patenting, copyright, or licensing activities.
Alex's experience is combined with a Master's in Applied Linguistics, a Diploma in Project Management and Quality Auditing, and a Bachelor's in Business administration.
His interest goes beyond conventional project management, as shown by his involvement in innovative educational technologies, attendance at conferences, and engagement in industry and community-based committees.
Currently, he contributes his project management expertise to The Campus Cohesion Project, an university-wide project focused on solutions to support campus cohesion and safety for all students and staff, and The Monash Initiative for Rapid Research into Antisemitism (MIRRA) a major initiative led by the Australia Centre for Jewish Civilisation that researches the nature, causes and effects of antisemitism in Australia.
