Alessandro Achilli is Lecturer in Ukrainian Studies at Monash’s School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics.

His research interests include modern and contemporary Ukrainian poetry, Ukrainian cultural history, Slavic studies, comparative literature and literary theory. In his current research project he traces and analyses neomodernist trends in Ukrainian poetry of the second half of the 20thcentury.

In 2015 he held a Eugene and Daymel Shklar / Ukrainian Studies Foundation Research Fellowship in Ukrainian Studies at Ukrainian Research Institute, Harvard University.

He has published several chapters in books and articles in scholarly journals including Zeitschrift für Slawistik, Studi slavistici and the Australian and New Zealand Journal of European Studies.
