Biography

Biography

Dr Aleksandra Pop-Vasileva joined Monash University as a Lecturer in 2016. Prior to Monash, she held a lecturing position at Macquarie University, where she completed a PhD in Accounting focusing on performance management systems effectiveness. Aleks also holds a Bachelor of Economics (Business Management) and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours I class) and has been a recipient of a Faculty award for an outstanding Honours thesis at Macquarie University. Her research interests in management accounting relate to performance measurement and control, with specific emphasis on behavioural aspects and implications. She has been published in Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and Accounting Education, where she has received an award for best paper published. Her teaching experience spans over ten years, across various undergraduate and postgraduate management accounting subjects, including introductory, advanced and strategic management accounting.
