Biography

Dr Ahsan Saleem is a Research Fellow in Medication Management and Patient Safety with the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Monash University.

Ahsan is a pharmacist by training, holds an entry-to-practice PharmD and a PhD in health literacy and quality use of medicines, and has experience in research, teaching, and community and clinical pharmacy.

Ahsan is a multiple-methods researcher and has expertise in quantitative and qualitative research, systematic reviews, clinical trials, codesign, implementation research, and validation of patient-reported outcome measures.

Research interests

Ahsan's research agenda is to improve medication use and safety, health literacy, and health outcomes in older adults and culturally and linguistically diverse people, and enhance the quality of care delivered to people from both these groups.

Ahsan's research interests include aged care, medication safety, health literacy, medication communication, deprescribing, frailty, pain management, quality of care, and translating evidence into practice.

Ahsan is open to research collaborations and associate supervision opportunities in any of these research areas or related topics.
