Dr Ahmed Abdalla is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Accounting, Monash University, Australia, and the coordinator of the Financial Accounting and Auditing research group. He has been a research scholar at Columbia University in New York City and a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining Monash, he has been a faculty fellow at the London School of Economics (2014-2017).

Ahmed received a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from King’s College London in 2016 and completed part of his doctoral training at the University of Cambridge.

 Ahmed’s main research interests are the macroeconomic consequences of firm-level accounting information and the valuation of equity.

His research is published in the Accounting Review and the Journal of Monetary Economics.
