Biography

Dr Shahriar earned his Bachelor degree with Honours in Economics from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh and completed his Masters in Development Economics from Williams College under the auspices of a Fulbright Fellowship. He earned his PhD from Purdue University. He conducts empirical and experimental research on microfinance, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and crowdfunding. His research has appeared in the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance. Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice  among others. Dr Shahriar has held teaching positions at BRAC University in Bangladesh.
