Personal profile

Biography

Dr Shahriar joined the department in April 2012. He earned his Bachelor degree with Honours in Economics from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh and completed his Masters in Development Economics from Williams College under the auspices of a Fulbright Fellowship. In May 2012, Dr Shahriar earned his PhD from Purdue University. He conducts empirical and experimental research on microfinance, entrepreneurship, and crowdfunding. His research has appeared in the Journal of Banking and Finance. Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice  among others. Dr Shahriar has held teaching positions at BRAC University and Dhaka International University in Bangladesh.
