Biography

Dr Abraham Oshni Alvandi is a digital health researcher who has worked at Monash University in the Faculty of Information Technology and currently is an Adjunct Research Associate with school of Rural Health. Abraham is passionate about multidisciplinary studies where cognitive and information systems meet each other.

Working with Prof. Chris Bain, his focus was on consumer health informatics. In this research theme, he aimed to understand how digital healthcare technologies are perceived by the public, how they should be designed to accord to consumers' health requirements, and how innovations should transform the activities of the healthcare industries in the best ways to deliver excellent customer service to citizens.

As an adjunct, Abraham continues working in a project lead by Dr. Keith Sutton to understand how remote monitoring of healthcare works across regional Australia.

Abraham currently works as digital health research in The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Abraham is also interested in Bayesian Networks (BNs) that are applied to support decision-making under uncertainty; especially, health-related problems that are targets for medical decision support systems.

Abraham has a PhD from Monash with a multidisciplinary background in cognitive and health information systems.
