Why cities don't want to host the Olympic Games anymore

    This article argues that more cities are increasingly deciding aganist bidding for the right to stage the Olympic Games because of the costs and corruption. This movement against the Games is citizen-based and suggests that unless the IOC reform both the bidding process and the Games themsleves, the number of bidding cities will decline markedly. The article concludes that this trend should be taken into consideration as Queenslanders contemplate an Olympic bid.
