Description

The article offers a theological reflection on two high-profile rape victims, separated in time-space - Ang May Hong in Malaysia, 1987 and Jyoti Singh Pandey, India, 2012. I argue for the need to name to break the silence of shame (which includes naming marital rape as rape). In doing so, one potentialily redresses discriminatory cultural practices even biased religious interpretations that condone gender-based violence as a means of regulating the sexuality of women.
