    This article explores ways in which Australian sport can draw on the Super Bowl to improve the staging of major sporting events. The article contends that the AFL, for example, could follow the NFL's lead by introducing a bidding process for the grand final. Also, sporting bodies can learn from the NFL's packaging of the game as an entertainment spectacular, rather than a mainly sporting event, thereby increasing the marketability and audience size.
