Researchers dispel myth about survival rate of twins

Description

The notion that 10 times as many twins are conceived than end up being born, because one twin dies very early during the pregnancy, has been shown to be a medical myth.

Australian researchers, taking ultrasound scans of hundreds of pregnant women, have found each twin has about the same chance of surviving the first few weeks of pregnancy as a non-twin.
