A LEADING cyber security expert has warned school leavers against buying online mail order drugs, fearing they may be the next scourge of schoolies celebrations later this month.

Monash University cyber security expert Dr Lennon Chang said online classifieds site Craigslist may be of concern, but there are also sites on the Darknet that young people can easily buy drugs from.

“Of course, it’s important to take down these websites and arrest the sellers and buyers, but it’s extremely difficult due to the complexity of internet, especially when TOR has been used to hide their IP addresses,” Dr Chang said.
