The Queensland Government is expected to sign off on a deal with Virgin Airlines today, before parliament goes into caretaker mode. The state's opposition is pledging to end talks with Virgin if elected, it says it will not rip up a contract if the Palaszczuk Government finalises a deal before tomorrow. Deputy Opposition Leader Tim Mander says the $200-million should be invested in a tourism and marketing fund for the state.

Professor Greg Bamber is from the Department of Management at Monash Business School, he is also the co-author of the book "Up In the Air" about the world's airlines, he spoke to ABC NewsRadio's Thomas Oriti.
